Srinagar, Nov 10 (KNO): To capitalize on the captivating allure of fall, Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Department has launched a novel campaign to position the picturesque Kashmir Valley as an ideal wedding destination. As a part of the Union Ministry of Tourism and India's incredible “India says I Do Wedding” campaign, which is aimed at showcasing India as a premier wedding destination on the global stage, Jammu and Kashmir tourism has also joined this mission to attract wedding planners across the world. This campaign was launched across India in the month of August this year. Under this campaign, the tourism department invites the wedding planners, wedding influencers and wedding photographers to showcase their work that illustrates the contribution to destination weddings in Kashmir. “Are you a wedding planner, wedding influencer, wedding photographer or a wedding hotel owner based in Kashmir, we are excited for you to become an integral part of the “India says I do wedding campaign,” the promotional brochure of the tourism department reads, as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO). An official of the tourism department said this campaign is being launched to showcase the mesmerizing beauty of the autumn and winter season. “Kashmir has a scope to emerge as one of the top wedding destinations of India. So, the campaign showcases the region's natural splendor, with iconic locations such as Dal Lake, Gulmarg, and Pahalgam taking center stage,” he said. The official said numerous wedding and pre-wedding shoots have been happening in Kashmir particularly during autumn season. “The vibrant autumn leaves paint the Kashmir Valley in hues of red, gold, and orange, the Tourism Department is leveraging the breath-taking landscapes to entice couples planning their weddings,” he added. Priya Mehta, a wedding planner from Maharashtra said Kashmir gradually was getting promoted as a destination wedding ‘heaven’. “Gradually people are getting interested in holding their wedding function in Kashmir. They enquire about the services which they can enjoy here. While some want their wedding during summers, others like it when it is autumn and winter time,” she said. The valley travel agencies have also capitalized on this trend, offering comprehensive packages that take care of all the logistics, leaving couples free to savor every moment of their special day. “We have held many weddings here. We manage the decoration of the venue, regional feasts and other logistics,” said Umar Ahmad, a travel agent—(KNO)
